OMINS business management system is specifically designed for medium to large auction sellers and established businesses looking for an efficient solution to move into and effectively manage e-commerce. A number of smaller and larger companies use OMINS to either partially or fully manage their business

What is OMINS?

OMINS (Online Marketplace Integrated Network System) is a modern on-line (web based) enterprise level system. Designed from the ground up for e-commerce business management integration and automation – specifically in the unique New Zealand Online marketplace. OMINS includes full TradeMe integration using our unique custom-built API.


OMINS boasts the capabilities of a number of modern acronyms all in one system, including:

  • CRM (Customer Relationship Manager) – e.g. customer database, invoices, accounts receivable and emails.
  • CMS (Content Management System) – e.g. create and maintain e-commerce websites.
  • API (application programming interface) – unique built in integration with marketplace websites such as Trade Me.
  • BI (Business Intelligence) – e.g. in-depth customisable reports.

Brief history of OMINS?

OMINS began its development in 2004 as an in-house platform for integrated e- commerce, auction and business management for New Zealand Online Auction Brokers Ltd (NZOAB – alfle on Trade Me) as the owners of NZOAB had a background in software development. Creating a system was a natural progression for the business and NZOAB, using OMINS, went on become a very successful e-commerce operation and one of the largest traders on Trade Me; in fact, NZOAB has acquired the highest individual feedback rating on Trade Me.
Originally, OMINS was kept in-house and maintained as the competitive edge for NZOAB, however after a number of enquires and strong outside interest in the software, Snipesoft Ltd was formed in 2006 to distribute, customise and support OMINS for a limited number of clients. The original developers of OMINS have since moved to become full time Snipesoft Ltd staff and developers of OMINS. OMINS is currently used by a number of clients and Snipesoft Ltd employs 3 full time developers.

Features and Benefits

OMINS has many features and benefits; the real value is not simply in the number of features, but how these features fit together in one system. Bringing these many aspects of business management allows a significant decrease in workload, increased efficiency, increased customer satisfaction and comprehensive holistic reporting. E-Commerce

One system allows many e-commerce "channels" which includes a full featured website and full Trade Me automation and integration, with future plans for other marketplace integration (e.g. a Zillion (www.zillion.co.nz) module is already available on request, and there are plans for Ferrit (www.ferrit.co.nz), SellMeFree (www.sellmefree.co.nz) and more.)

 

Website

Every OMINS user can create as many e-commerce websites as required and all are fully
integrated into their system. This allows unique advantages such as:

  • One product set-up, many channels – set a product up for Trade Me and your e-commerce website will also be populated with no extra work required. Website maintenance is absolutely minimal: details, descriptions and photos are by default automatically populated from the same Trade Me listing setup. Stock levels are
  • Other general website features include: shopping cart, multiple shipping options,
    multiple payment set-up, custom pages, integrated search, infinite nested
    categories, fully customisable design, mass email and built in analytics and
    reporting.

Integrated Checkout System (Trade Me & website):

Customers from your e-commerce website, Trade Me or even manually created orders can optionally be directed to your OMINS checkout. Implementing the checkout increases efficiency and customer satisfaction, and leads to increase sales.

The advantages of the checkout are:

  • Up selling – the checkout will display a selection of complementary products to the customer and they have the ability to add extra products to their order, increasing product exposure and sales.
  • Product selections – the customer can make choices (such as colour or size etc.) of an product purchased and can be offered special prices or shipping.
  • Increased efficiency – the checkout ensures customers have provided their details and are provided with the correct price and shipping to pay, even if other products have been ordered or multiple auctions are combined.
  • Service and Convenience – customers can return to their checkout and check if
    their payment has been processed or see their tracking number and dispatch date.

Marketplace Integration (Trade Me / Zillion):

OMINS currently has full Trade Me integration, as well as a Zillion module on request, future plans include Ferrit integration and other New Zealand marketplaces such as SellMeFree and potentially eBay.


Trade Me Integration – OMINS was built with its own Trade Me automation system (or API) from the ground up. This API is core to OMINS and is the most advanced available. When coupled with the checkout and after sales integration, OMINS can completely eliminate the need for any monotonous, repetitive tasks and maintenance of Trade Me listings.

Features include:

  • Full listing / relisting – including special categories, catalogue DVDs, bikes, cars, boats, (enquire for real estate and jobs). Listing is bound to stock so your products will not list when you have no stock.
  • Offers – automatic offers in real time for sold and unsold listings, offer at set prices or prices relative to the ending price, offers are bound to stock so listings won't offer when you are out of stock.
  • Editing – have 6 auctions for one product with a mistake or typo? Make one change in OMINS to edit them all.
  • Service and Convenience – customers can return to their checkout and check if their payment has been processed or see their tracking number and dispatch date.
  • Questions – answer or ignore questions all on one page, access pre-set answers and search all past answers for a certain product.
  • Auto Top-up – OMINS will auto top up your Trade Me account via credit card once it reaches a specified level.
  • Feedback – left automatically on completed trades, customise when feedback is placed, search over old feedback, sort by feedback type.
  • Refunds – instantly see unpaid items and request a fee refund from Trade Me.
  • Live stock integration – when items are sold on Trade Me, OMINS will create an order/invoice immediately. The product will be removed from your stock record and a customised email will be sent to your customer. Once the address is provided (via Trade Me or through the optional OMINS checkout) the address will be updated live in OMINS. If the product still has stock within minutes an offer will be made and it will be re-listed on Trade Me.

Information site

OMINS includes an information style site which allows you to list all your products available on Trade Me in your own categories, and so long as there are no direct contact details in this information site, you can link directly to it from your Trade Me listings.

Features include:

  • Each product has its own page – link customers directly to a product's page, automatically show customers other items they may wish to buy and link them to the appropriate auctions.
  • Sell a product with a selection – e.g. colours, sizes etc. Your information site page will automatically give live information on what choices (such as colours or sizes) are currently in stock. (The checkout will also allow the customer to automatically select the size/colour etc. they desire).
  • Load higher resolution photos and longer descriptions – if needed you can extend the automatically generated product page, allowing you to display a description of unlimited size or high resolution photos for a particular product.
  • Custom information pages – put up as may custom pages as required with shipping / product information, etc.

Automation

Automation is an important aspect of OMINS. The benefit of being built and tested in the field over a number of years means OMINS has some very powerful automation tools that will greatly reduce work flow and increase efficiency.

These include:

  • Bank statement import – download your bank statement and import into OMINS, OMINS can typically match up
    95-98% of your payments with auctions and website orders, confirm and apply payments with a single click.
  • Two click order processing – most orders though OMINS require only 2 mouse clicks to fully process: one click to apply the payment automatically matched to the order by bank statement import and another to print the packing slip
    or invoice which is already populated with the address, extra items added to the order by the
    customer themselves via the checkout require no input from the OMINS user.
  • Automatic emails – any email template can be created and an personalised email can be sent to a customer with a single click, OMINS comes with preloaded common email templates.
  • Courier Tracking integration – with a basic bar code scanner you can scan 100+ tracking numbers into OMINS in minutes, OMINS prints a small bar code on the address label to reference the order, simply scan this and the bar code of the courier ticket/satchel, look up any order and see the exact day and even minute it was scanned, follow easily up lost parcels with the shipping company, OMINS will recognise the courier company can can let you view the delivery status with single click.
  • Packing confirm with bar code / product picture – type or scan (using a bar code scanner) in your packing slips and see a view with pictures of the item(s) needed to pack. If the item has a bar code, this can also be loaded into OMINS and scanned against the order to confirm the correct item is picked . With this feature, a temp or new member of staff can accurately pick and package with a minimum of training.
  • Effective searches – OMINS allows you to locate customers or orders quickly, search user name, email, phone, order/auction number, tracking number, address etc, find all customers that purchased a product, quickly review all unpaid invoices, or unpaid auctions that require fee refunds requested.

Scalability

With OMINS, your business can grow without limits:

  • Enterprise level role based user access – allowing you to create unlimited users for your system. Start off with one or two users with full access and as your business grows, add more users and control their access to parts of the system as needed.
  • Multiple auction user names and e-commerce websites in one system – you can departmentalise into separate usernames/websites, you can create unlimited websites and auction user names in one system.
  • No limit to concurrent users – OMINS is on-line web based system and is hosted on modern high performance high bandwidth servers. Each server can easily support hundreds concurrent of users. Feel confident when you need a new staff member all they need is computer with internet access.

Stock/Inventory Integration:

OMINS features inventory control with vendors and purchases. Enter in a purchase, and once marked as received, the item is in stock, linked and listed on your e-commerce website and auction websites.

  • Full featured stock control – vendors, purchase orders, stock receipt, stock adjustments, purchase planning, stock valuation, search on items that are running low on stock email purchase orders to vendors.
  • Integrated stock levels control listing/website – Product stock level controls website, and auction listing / offering.

CRM (Customer Relationship Management):

OMINS provides your with a customer database and invoicing system with many unique features:

  • Customer database – maintain customer database with addresses phone numbers and email addresses, with integrated mass email functionality.
  • New customers and orders created live – from website or auctions, multiple purchases can be automatically combined with configurable time-frame and configurable discounted combined shipping.
  • Email templates / on-click emails – create unlimited configurable email templates, one click send and/or scheduled, comes with a preloaded set-up which includes: after auction email, invoice as PDF attachment, tracking email, overpayment, underpayment, reminder to pay and more...
  • Individual customer information web page – where an individual customer can view live status of their order at
    any time.
  • Shipping company configuration – allows specific tracking information and direct links to courier tracking information pages. Preloaded shipping companies include: NZ Post, CourierPost, NZ couriers, Posthaste, Castle Parcels, Fastways, PBT. Any other company can be configured on request.
  • Leave notes/tasks/events or attachments – on orders, customers, products etc. Assign notes/task/events to any
    staff member.
  • Accounts receivable – bank account report, bank statement import with payment references automatically matched to orders for auctions and website.

Reporting and searching:

Finding the information you need quickly and displaying it in a meaningful manner is important in any business. OMINS has flexible multidimensional reports that allow you to understand your business.

  • Flexible / extendible – Searches can extend into in-depth reporting allowing detailed general or specific reports over every aspect of your business. For instance, you can easily review individual product performance or track the sales of a auction set- up.
  • Basic search – for quick and easy reports.
  • Advanced search tool – to create and save highly customised reports
  • HTML or CSV export – all reports can be viewed in the system, exported to plain HTML table format for easy printing and even exported to CSV for Excel or other applications.

OMINS is billed on a volume basis. This allows you to grow your online business, and when you grow - so do we.
Our standard pricing starts as low as $49.99 month. $49.99 is the minimum monthly fee
Marketplace/e-commerce fees (omins website, trademe, zillion etc.): 2% of the final value excluding shipping/handling
(all prices include GST) with a maximum fee per item of $10.
