Hi all

We have decided to discontinue supporting this feature but don’t fret you can still auto topup it just requires you to turn on a feature in Trademe instead!

Trademe now have a feature called auto-billing – this can be activated through the My Products setting menu. We felt that there was no point maintaining a feature that is already provided.

It will also allow you to continue listing even if your account goes into debt and will bill your credit card once a week for the overdue amount.

To activate the feature please follow this help guide – you don’t need to do activate or use My Products just that one feature.

http://www.trademe.co.nz/help/701/auto-billing

Cheers

As promised the EasyLister and OMINS stock system has and huge overhaul in the last couple of months. Here is a quick rundown of some of the changes made:

Out of stock setting. You can now set your Easylister to edit your current auctions to an “out of stock” auction if an item runs out of stock while you still have live auctions. It will also edit the auction to the shortest possible auction length so it will end as soon as it possibly can without costing you any money. If the item goes back into stock i.e you receive more it will edit it back to the original auction. Note: The auction must not have met the reserve and have more than 1hr to run.

To comply with Trademe rules please edit the default to a tangible item such as a paperclip i.e a ‘real’ item.

To find this setting please go to your settings menu > trademe settings for easylister or your settings > promo groups then the trademe tab in the promo group for omins

You can edit the title, description and price. You can optionally also set it to remove any photos attached to the auction.

For our EasyWholsale users: It will now reserve stock when an auction reserve is met (within an hour) which means that it will be reserved for you in the vendors system and won’t be available to anyone else.

We know that it was a big issue regarding overselling and stock levels so we have worked hard to ensure that all loopholes have been closed.

We would like to wish all our customers a Happy and Prosperous New Year and hope you managed to get some relaxation time in over the holiday season and have come back refreshed and ready to go!

With the new year comes some new updates….

First off we have upgraded our accounts system to ASB’s business banking. This means that payments made (with the correct reference) to our EasyWholesale account are now applied automatically. This means that if you are with ASB bank, or you make a cash deposit over the counter at an ASB branch at any time of the day, the payment will typically be available to use in EasyWholesale within 30 minutes. Do note however that payments or transfers made from a bank other than ASB will still be applied the following day (approx. 1am) due to inter-bank processing delays.

Up and coming:
We will soon be offering new options for EasyLister and OMINS users wanting to use their own webstores by integrating with either OpenCart or Smallfish cart systems. If you are considering expanding your online profile or revamping your online store, we highly recommend one of these cart systems. If you are keen as beans get in touch with us and we are happy to discuss your options, provide advice and assist with the set up and design.

On the horizon:
A complete re-model of the stock and ordering system for EasyWholesale will be implemented in the next few months, along with a ‘feedback’ system of sorts for vendors. We appreciate all your support while the system grows and works through any teathing problems. We have listened to all your comments about the great and the not so great aspects and hope to address all of these with the next upgrade.

Today Trade Me made a change to the categories in the Electronics & photography section.

Although OMINS updates categories automatically the instant it detects a change, there is still the task of updating your products to match the new categories. We understand this can take a bit of time, so we thought of how to best solve the problem…

We considered providing a list of changed categories to help customers adjust their products, but decided that just providing a list isn’t good enough.

So instead, we’ve devised a way to automatically correct your products when this happens. This means that whenever Trade Me makes a category change, OMINS will automatically adjust your products to match up with the new categories and your products will continue listing without a hitch.

We’ll implement this feature within the next week, so next time a category change happens you probably won’t even notice! In the mean time, we’ll run the script manually to update everyone’s categories due to this change so everyone’s products will continue to list.

Just another way OMINS saves you time.

As part of our focus on usability in OMINS, we have implemented a small update today which should help make browsing through your OMINS system a bit quicker.

Often you want to know how many items a tab (“section”) contains. For example, how many sales does this product have? How many auction rules are set up?

Previously you’d need to go into each tab to find this information out. To avoid this, we’ve made a small change which now shows the count on the tab itself so you can see at a glance how many items are in that tab.

Just a small change, but a nice step forward for usability.

This is why we’re happy to announce that we have now upgraded our infrastructure to 64 bit, allowing us to take advantage of the newest server technology and keep up with the growing demand.

What this means for you, the OMINS customer, is that you will continue to receive the same high-speed access to your system, and indeed should notice a speed increase on the heavier features such as advanced reporting.

It also means you can feel good knowing you’re trading on the cutting-edge. Quite an exciting place to be, we think.

When it comes to creating an online presense, there’s a lot to think about. You have to consider where to host it, who will design and maintain it, and more importantly – how to keep it up to date with current products and stock levels!

As a standard feature, all OMINS customers receive a highly dyamic e-commerce website, which is ready to use on first sign up. And when we say highly dynamic – we mean it! Your site is run from the same database as your TradeMe listings, and is always up-to-the-second accurate.

For most people the only thing that needed setting up was some custom website categories. That is, until now…

If you don’t want to set up custom categories for your website, you can now have them automatically populated with the approriate TradeMe categories that are already set up on your products. Not only does this remove the need for custom categories – it’s fully dyanamic and changes as your products do!

And of course, being an OMINS customer, the feature is available to use right now – no updating neccessary. Just select the Use TradeMe Categories option in the Web tab of your Promotion Group settings.
